The 2018 Mercy Health Elida Tip-Off will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Elida Fieldhouse. On Friday Shawnee will match up with Bath at 6:30 p.m. and 15 minutes after game one Elida will play LCC. The consolation and championship games will take place on Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m..

Presale tickets are on sale at each school for $4 for students and $6 for adults. All tickets at the door will be $7. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m.

Local Bowler takes top honors

Bob Edwards of Lima, Ohio, won first place with a score of 1,055 in the Forty Frame Game National Championship Finals on Nov. 17.

Edwards qualified for the National Finals by winning first place in the Toledo Forty Frame Game tournament this year with a score of 1211. He bowls regularly at 20fl1 Century Bowling Center in Lima, Ohio. His bowling career includes (45) 300 games and (14) 800 series among other winnings.

Nine finalists from across the country were in Las Vegas November 16-18 competing in the 24th annual Forty Frame GameNational Championshipbowling tournament. Players bowled two preliminary rounds narrowing the field to a final six who went head to head Saturday afternoon for the championship at Silver Nugget Casino & Bowling Center. The Forty Frame Game awards $25 ,000 to the National Championship each year. The Forty Frame Game bowling tournament is known worldwide for its unique format. The Forty Frame Game is one game 40 frames long offering bowlers an opportunity to increase or decrease their score through various bonus and/or pitfall frames. A perfect score in the tournament is 1305 which has never been scored.
