Girls basketball roundup: Arlington tops Bluffton for tourney title

BLUFFTON — Arlington outscored the host Pirates 6-4 in the fourth quarter to win the McDonald’s Holiday Tournament championship game in girls basketball Saturday night.

Averey Rumer had 10 points and 11 rebounds, Kylie Stackhouse scored 12, Libby Schaadt had six boards and Kayla White had four assists for Bluffton.

Allen East defeated Cory-Rawson 52-31 in the consolation game. Tori Newland had 16 points and 13 rebounds, Lauren Criblez had 12 points, 10 rebounds and two assists, Lakin Basham scored 10 and Kate Newland contributed three assists for the Mustangs. Zoe Chisholm had nine points and six rebounds and Kara Schultz had five points, five rebounds and two assists for Cory-Rawson.

Arlington’s Morgan Smith was named the tournament MVP and joining her on the all-tourney team were Chisolm, Basham, Koenig, Bluffton’s Katie Prater and Arlington’s Hannah Willow and Lindsay Dodds.

FORT JENNINGS — The host Musketeers outscored the Indians 10-4 in the third quarter after trailing 23-22 at halftime. Kristen Luersman had 19 points and Emilee Calvelage scored 11 for Fort Jennings. Ally Boone and Yana Floyd each had 10 points for Shawnee.

Continental 39

CONTINENTAL — Brianna Ebel and Jordan Decker had 12 points each and Lakin Brant scored 11 for Lincolnview. Madi Sharp had 18 points and Addy Armey scored eight for Continental.

McGUFFEY — Bri Hurley and MacKenzie Grener each had seven points for USV.
