Roundup: Bath’s Bolons finish fourth in girls tennis district

PORT CLINTON — The Bath doubles team of Ruby and Esther Bolon finished fourth in Saturday’s Division II girls tennis district.

The duo lost 6-2, 7-5 in the semifinals to Toledo Central Catholic’s Bella Spinazze and Rachel Gorman and then dropped a 6-0, 6-0 third-place match to Lexington’s Sylvia Goldsmith and Gracie Pfieffer.

The Bolons had already qualified for state with a top-four finish.

In Division I singles, Shawnee’s Kunmi Ojo fell 6-1, 6-0 in the semifinals to Clay’s Mady Arquette, preventing Ojo from advancing to state. The top two singles players and doubles teams qualified for state in the D-I district.

Ottawa-Glandorf 3, Columbus Grove 0

COLUMBUS GROVE — Top-ranked Division III O-G finished it regular season 21-1 with the 25-7, 25-11, 25-19 victory.

Taylor Alt had 17 kills, Erica Annesser had eight kills and four aces, Claire Eiden had 15 digs, Kendra Ellerbrock had 12 assists and Brianna Schimmoeller had 15 assists and nine digs for Ottawa-Glandorf.

Haley Radabaugh had five kills, Rylee Sybert had eight assists and five digs and Amy Vorst had 10 digs for Grove.

Shawnee 3, LCC 0

The Indians won 25-14, 25-18, 25-23

Kelsey Fischbach had 31 assists and nine digs, Amber Greeley had 10 kills and 10 blocks, Peyton Deubler had 12 digs and five kills, Dayle Aldrich had 22 digs and Trinity Gearing had seven kills for Shawnee.

Bluffton 3, Cory-Rawson 2

BLUFFTON — The Pirates won 20-25, 25-20, 25-13, 21-25, 15-5

Kylie Stackhouse had 17 kills, Katie Prater had 18 kills and 23 digs, Ameri Siferd had 27 assists and 18 digs, Skyler Scoles had 13 assists and Kylie Monday had 19 digs for Bluffton.

Fort Jennings 3, Cory-Rawson 1

RAWSON — Adam Noriega had two goals and Fort Jennings’ Aaron Kloeppel and Cory-Rawson’s Brice Rutherford each had one. For Jennings’ Ian Ricker had a pair of assists.
