New Knoxville wins Van Wert event

CONVOY — Ottawa-Glandorf won the 18th annual Fricker’s Lady Knight Volleyball Invitational held Saturday at Crestview.

The Titans defeated South Adams from Indiana 25-16, 25-21 and then Crestview 27-25, 25-17 to reach the championship where they beat Marion Local 25-17, 25-11.

O-G’s Taylor Alt was named the MVP of the eight-team event and joining her on the all-tournament team were Lexi Gregory (Crestview), Kamryn Maxwell (Norwalk St. Paul), Megan Hammersmith (St. Paul), Natalie Rethman (Marion Local), Carrie Fesenmyer (Marion Local) and Erica Annesser (Ottawa-Glandorf).

Marion Local reached the championship match be defeating Celina 25-12, 25-17 and then St. Paul 25-22, 24-26, 25-23.

St. Paul topped Crestview 25-14, 25-23 for third place. South Adams was fifth followed by Celina, Arlington and Edison.

Van Wert Invitational

VAN WERT — New Knoxville defeated 18-25, 25-20, 26-24 Versailles to win the championship.

In the final, Megan Jurosic had 10 kills, Morgan Leffel had eight kills, Erin Scott had 16 digs and Carly Fledderjohann had 30 assists for the champs.

New Bremen, Shawnee, Van Wert, Elida, St. Marys, and Kalida finished third through eighth respectively.

Allen East 3, Whitmer 1

HARROD — The Mustangs won 25-21, 16-25, 25-22, 25-20. Anamya Truex had 10 kills and four blocks, Grace Howard had nine kills, Maggie Thullen had three aces and Summer McCloskey had 30 assists for Allen East.

Ottoville 3, Delphos St. John’s 2

OTTOVILLE — The Big Green won 25-15, 23-25, 25-14, 21-25, 15-12.

Quinley Schlogbaum had 23 kills and three aces, Brynlee Hanneman had 19 digs, Kylee Hoersten had 54 assists, Taylor Beining had 11 blocks and Sydney Brinkman had three aces for Ottoville.

Girls Soccer

Kalida 2, Bluffton 0

KALIDA — Lauren Langhals and Madison Langhals each had a goal and Bailey White made nine saves in earning the shutout in goal. Bluffton goalie Riley Busch had four saves.

Liberty-Benton 2, Shawnee 0

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Grace O’Connor made 11 saves in goal for Shawnee (12-1).

Elida 5, Fort Jennings 0

FORT JENNINGS — Jency Jenkins and Cienna Kuhn each had two goals and Bella Wallace had one tally. Erika Suever (E) made two saves to get the shutout in goal.

Delphos Jefferson 4,

Columbus Grove 1

DELPHOS — Maddie McConnahea had three goals and teammate Sarah Metzner contributed another tally.

Celina 3,

Toledo Central Catholic 1

CELINA — Mia Rolfes had two goals and teammate Emily Braun had one.

Boys soccer

Bath 1, Temple Christian 0

BATH TOWNSHIP — Dillon Howell had the match’s only goal and Brenton Brock made four saves to get the shutout in goal. Temple Christian goalie Cody Motter made five saves.

Continental 3, New Knoxville 1

NEW KNOXVILLE — Cole Bowers had two goals and Continental’s Konnor Okuley and New Knoxille’s Joseph Baende each had one.

Liberty-Benton 3, Fort Jennings 0

FINDLAY — Fort Jennings goalie Jon Grote made eight saves.

Kalida 0, Celina 0

CELINA — Goalies Breyden Recker of Kalida(K) 5, Dalton Leiff (C) 6 made five and six saves respectively.

Lima Senior 12, Waite 0
