Kalida, Spencerville claim boys golf sectional titles

Kalida and Spencerville each had the low team scores and medalists in boys Division III golf sectionals Thursday,

At par 71 Eagle Rock Golf Club, medalist Christian Nartker (73), Josh Recker (77), Alec Edelbrock (79) and David Peck (87) combined for a winning score of 316 followed by Liberty-Benton (321) and Wayne Trace (342). The top three teams advanced to districts. No area players were among the top three from non-qualifying teams advancing.

Miller City’s Luke Lammers (85), Ottoville’s Carter Schnipke (87), Fort Jennings’ Logan Schimmoeller (92) and Crestview’s Colton Lautzenheiser (88) had the low rounds for their respective schools.

At par 72 Colonial Golfers Club, medalist Ethan Harmon (73), Gavin Harmon (78), Drake Mertz (83) and Alex Gallman (84) contributed to Spencerville’s winning score of 318. Minster and St. Henry also advanced to district with second- and third-place finishes.

Grant Koenig (78), Joseph Magoto (78), Logan Lazier (83) and Grant Voisard (86) combined for the Wildcats’ 325 score. Rylie Deitsch (79), Jack Romer (82), Lucas Grieshop (85) and Reed Koesters (85) gave the Redskins a 331 total.

Adam Gerker (76) of Delphos St. John’s, Parkway’s Mason Baxter (78) and Lincolnview’s Ryan Moody (80) advanced as individuals.

Lima Central Catholic’s Ross Otto (81), Delphos Jefferson’s Logan Gallmeier (83), Fort Recovery’s Grant Knapke (85), New Knoxville’s Sam Anspach (92), New Bremen’s Cole Hemmelgarn (86), Marion Local’s Tim Knapschaefer (89), Perry’s Josh Dyer (85) and Temple Christian’s Lincoln Waters (85) had the low rounds for their teams.

At par 72 Sycamore Springs, Upper Scioto Valley and Columbus Grove finished second and third respectively behind Van Burne (318) to qualify for districts.

Co-medalist Brady Hipsher (75), Dylan Thompson (83), Kaden Parker (88) and Tyler Gratz (91) combined for USV’s 337 total. Jacob Oglesbee (81), Owen Macke (85), Zac Roberts (89) and Austin Macke (97) contributed to Grove’s 352 total. Allen East’s Carter Frey was third among players on non-qualifying teams with an 87 to advance as an individual.

Leipsic’s Mason Tadena (92), Bluffton’s Cole Koenig (88), Waynesfield-Goshen’s Gauge Rumor (89) and Ada’s Ethan Hull (93) had the low rounds for their schools.

The D-III district is scheduled to be played Oct. 4 at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green.

Division II

At par 72 Country Acres Golf Club, Austin Radcliff (78), Evan Ellerbrock (82), Alex Ellerbrock (88) and Collin Hempfling (93) combined to give Ottawa-Glandorf a 341 total for third place and a spot in districts behind Upper Sandusky (327) and Bryan (335). Kenton’s Rocco Longbrake (76), Bath’s Britton Hall (77), St. Marys’ Austin Boley (84) and Van Wert’s Austin Bissonette (85) advanced as individuals.

Paulding’s Hunter Kauser (86) and Coldwater’s Austin Riethman (89) had the low scores for their schools.

The Northwest Ohio D-II district is scheduled to be held Oct. 4 at Red Hawk Run in Findlay.
