Roundup: Kalida collects boys golf tourney victory

STRYKER — Kalida won on a fifth score tiebreaker after tieing Bryan at 309 in winning the Golden Bear Invitational in boys high school golf Saturday at the par 70 Riverside Greens Golf Course.

Christian Nartker (70), Josh Recker (73), David Peck (81), Ryan Klausing (85) and Alec Baldwin (91) combined for the winning team score. Alex Wisser led Lima Central Catholic, which finished eighth, with a 76.

Wapakoneta 184, Celina 193

CELINA — Drew Zwiebel (38), Clay Wilsey (44), Jon Hefner (47) and Tim Bruns (55) combined for the winning score at the par 36 Celina Lynx Golf Club. Lance Mawer led Celina with a 42.

Elida tri match

ELIDA — The host Bulldogs defeated Bluffton 25-15, 25-11 and Upper Scioto Valley 25-10, 25-10.

Against Bluffton, Kylie Vorhees had seven kills, Nevaeh Vorhees had 17 assists and McKenzie Miller had 17 digs. Against USV, Vorhees had eight kills, Nevaeh Vorhees had 14 assists and Lindsay Brocklehurst had five digs.

Bluffton also defeated USV 25-14, 25-19. Katie Prater had eight kills, three aces and 11 digs and Ameri Siferd had nine assists and nine digs For Bluffton.

Miller City 2, Perry 1

HAVILAND — Miller City won 25-23, 14-25, 25-10. Brittany Kuhlman had 24 assists and 17 digs, Abi Lammers had eight kills and Sofie van Wezel had six kills for Miller City.

Shawnee 3, Lincolnview 2

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — The Indians won 23-25 25-19 25-20 21-25 15-10. Kelsey Fischbach had 28 assists, 11 digs and three aces, Amber Greeley had 14 kills and eight blocks blocks, Dayle Aldrich had 20 digs and Trinity Gearing had nine kills for Shawnee.

BOTKINS — The Redskins defeated Waynesfield-Goshen 25-10, 25-8 and the host Trojans 25-17, 25-12

Against W-G, Emma Nolte had eight assists and five aces and Makenzie Wilson had 11 kills. Against Botkins,

Renae Schulze had 11 assists, Chloei Barnett had five aces and Makenzie Wilson had eight kills.

BATH TOWNSHIP — The Wildkittens lost 25-12, 25-11 to St. Henry and 25-20, 11-25, 25-18 against Bryan at the Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio Bath Invitational.

Against St. Henry, Caitlyn Renner had eight assists and Riley Iiames had eight digs. Against Bryan, Mallory Clark had nine kills and four blocks and Caitlyn Renner had 15 assists and four blocks.

LIMA — Silar Gillespie had two goals and teammate Christian Hendrick had one. Trey Horstman and Brayden Truex each had a goal for LCC.

BELLEFONTAINE — Carter Jensen had two goals and Ethan Rosebeck, Ryan Maguire, Ethan Swallow and Jake Miller had one each for Shawnee. Cameron Tenwalde had a pair of assists.

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Sophia Fusillo had two goals, Tessa Jordan had two tallies and Kennedy Jensen and Lily Cleaves had a single goal each. Grace O’Connor made six saves in earning the shutout in goal.

Ashton Okuley made seven saves in goal for O-G.

TIFFIN — Laykin Garmatter had three goals and Kayla White and Rebekah Hoff had one tally each.
