Roundup: Wapakoneta improves to 3-0 on season with win against Shawnee

WAPAKONETA — Riley Gibson ran 16 times for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns Friday night as the host Redskins defeated Shawnee 32-6 to move to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the Western Buckeye League.

Brady Erb and Jeven Woodruff also had TD runs for Wapak and teammate Luke Beach converted a pair of field goals.

Shawnee’s Jhnny Caprella rushed 14 times for 81 yards and threw a TD pass to Tristan Dawson.

Ayersville 21, Bluffton 13

BLUFFTON — Nate Schaadt completed 12 of 22 pass attempts for 190 yards and a touchdown for the host Pirates. Deandre Nassar also had a touchdown run for Bluffton.

Columbus Grove 27, Patrick Henry 7

COLUMBUS GROVE — Garrett Nemire ran 25 times for 201 yards and three touchdowns and Colin Metzger also had a TD run for the Bulldogs.

Ottawa-Glandorf 35, Bath 10

BATH TOWNSHIP — Jasper Scarberry ran 24 times for 129 yards and scored two touchdowns and Danny Rosales also had a pair of touchdown runs. Carter Parlapiano caught a touchdown pass from Cyrus Burden and Keaton Liles connected on a 30-yard field goal for Bath.

Pandora-Gilboa 41, Vanlue 0

PANDORA — Jared Breece threw two touchdown passes to Travis Maag and another to Walker Macke. Riley Larcom and Zebulon George each returned an interception for a score and Peyton Traxler, who had nine carries for 109 yards, had a TD run.

St. Marys 38, Van Wert 6

VAN WERT — Braeden Dunlap had a pair of TD runs and threw a touchdown pass to Ethan Freewalt. Teammate Eddie Fowler had a TD run and Gabe Vandever connected on a 39-yard field goal and five extra-point kicks. Sean Perry returned a punt for a TD for the host Cougars.

Wynford 31, Allen East 13

BUCYRUS — Logan McCluer threw touchdown passes to Bradden Brumrine and Cole Fletcher for Allen East. Clum completed 13 of 26 pass attempts for 267 yards. Cole Fletcher had four catches for 152 yards and Crumrine had six catches for 99 yards.

Leipsic 34, Liberty-Benton 7

FINDLAY — Dylan Schroeder threw touchdown passes to Tyler Hiegel and Jaun Pena. Pena and teammate Gavin Lomeli also each had TD runs.

BELLEFONTAINE —Devan Sousley had 50 yards rushing on 12 carries for USV.

Crestview 34, Wayne Trace 14

CONVOY — Drew Kline completed 16 of 18 pass attempts for 190 yards and three touchdowns. Wade Sheets had two of the TD receptions, finishing with six catches for 61 yards and Derick Dealey, who had four receptions for 63 yards, caught the other. Brody Brecht ran 12 times for 80 and two TDs also for Crestview.

Lakota 58, Ridgemont 6

MOUNT VICTORY — Troy Cameron scored a touchdown, LJ Jackson ran 10 times for 85 yards, Tyrese Patterson had six catches for 59 yards and Jayden Streets had seven tackles and a fumble recovery for Ridgemont.

St. Henry 37, Delphos St. John’s 7

ST. HENRY — Zach Niekamp rushed 18 times for 143 and four touchdowns. Teammate Cody Bruggeman also rushed for a TD. Curtis Schwinnen of St. John’s returned an interception 35 yards for a score.

Kenton 48, Defiance 10

DEFIANCE — Jaron Sharp completed 18 of 25 pass attempts for 309 yards and five touchdowns. He also rushed for a pair of scores. Three of Jayden Cornell’s four receptions for 98 yards were for touchdowns. Landon Rush, who finished with six receptions for 125, and Bryce Ellis each had a TD catch for Kenton.

Coldwater 35, Versailles 7

VERSAILLES — Jake Hemmelgarn completed 16 of 21 pass attempts for 222 yards and three TDs, two going to Cole Frilling, who had five catches for 83 yards, and the other to Ben Wenning. Mitch Neikamp ran eight times for 73 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Minster 28, Ft. Recovery 22

MINSTER — August Boehnlein caught a 9-yard TD pass from Jacob Niemeyer to give Minster the victory. Alex Schmitmeyer had a trio of TD runs also for the host Wildcats.

Clay Schmitz completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 307 yards for Fort Recovery. Robert LeFevre, who had four catches for 96 yards, and Gavin Thobe each had a TD reception for the Indians. Schmitz also had a TD run.

Marion Local 51, Parkway 7

MARIA STEIN — Nate Bruns completed 12 of 20 pass attempts for 101 yards and three touchdowns. Nich Tangeman, Tanner Ungruhn and Max Albers each had a touchdown catch for the Flyers. Nolan Habodasz had 14 carries for 138 and two touchdowns and Bruns and and teammate John Tangeman each ran for a TD.

Nick Hawk ran 12 times for 69 yards and caught a 19-yard TD pass from Eli Rich.

Anna 42, New Bremen 7

NEW BREMEN — Nolan Bornhorst connected with Bryce Blickle on a 71-yard TD throw for New Bremen.

Danbury 28, Hardin Northern 26

MARBLEHEAD — Owen Wetherill had 12 carries for 222 yards and a pairing of rushing TDs for Hardin-Northern. He also completed 10 of 22 pass attempts for 140 yards and connected with Hunter Jolliff, who had four catches for 82 yards, on a pair of TD passes.

WAPAKONETA — Medalist Drew Zwiebel (36), Dylan Timmerman (42), Clay Wilsey (46) and Tim Bruns (46) combined for the winning team total at Wapakoneta Country Club. John Barker led Shawnee with a 42.

PCL tri match

DELPHOS — Medalist Josh Recker (38), Christian Nartker (41), Alec Edelbrock (42) and David Peck (43) combined for Kalida’s winning score of 164 at Delphos Country Club against Putnam County foes Ottoville (186) and Fort Jennings (212).

Dylan Kemper led Ottoville with a 42 and Nick Fields had Fort Jennings low round with a 50.

FORT JENNINGS — Lauren Langhals had three goals and Halie Kaufman, Madison Langhals and Mya Schmitz each had one tally. Bailey White got the shutout in goal.
