Roundup: Perry posts 61 points in shutout victory

TOLEDO — Louis Hoersten connected on eight of 13 pass attempts for 162 yards and two touchdown passes to Chazz Jackson and ran for three more scores as Perry opened its season Friday night with a 61-7 victory against Ottawa Hills. Teammate Shane Overly had 11 carries for 81 yards and two TDs and Jackson finished with four catches for 94 yards.

Ottawa-Glandorf 21, Eastwood 19

OTTAWA — The host Titans prevented Eastwood from tying the game on a two-point conversion attempt with a little more than a minute remaining after allowing two fourth-quarter Eastwood touchdowns.

Jasper Scarberry had 142 yards rushing and a TD on 23 carries and Clayton Recker had a scoring run for O-G. Jeremy Leopold had a 58-yard TD pass to Will Kaufman and Josh Rosengarten connected on all three extra point attempts for the host Titans.

St. Marys 35, Sidney 7

ST. MARYS — Sean Perry rushed 27 times for 145 yards, Braden Dunlap had a pair of TD runs and a touchdown pass to Ethan Free Walt, Ty Howell threw a scoring pass to Carter Ballweg and Eddie Fowler had a touchdown run for the host Roughriders.

Wapakoneta 28, Bellefontaine 14

BELLEFONTAINE — Brad Erb rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries, Evan Kaeck had 105 yards and a TD on 17 carries and Reed Merricle returned and interception for a TD for the visiting Redskins.

Bluffton 28, Cory-Rawson 6

RAWSON — Deandre Nassar ran for 261 yards, including TDs carries of 96 and 9 yards. Nate Schaadt connected on a 14-yard TD pass to Logan Rhodes and Nephi Paralta had a 15-yard interception return also for the visiting Pirates.

Deontae` Davis had a 6-yard touchdown run for C-R.

Celina 41, Versailles 12

CELINA — Kyle Zizelman ran 18 times for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the host Bulldogs. Teammate Chase Stephens ran eight times for 89 yards and three touchdowns. Brett Schwieterman carried the ball 11 times for 91 yards also for Celina.

Delphos St. John’s 50, Woodward 13

DELPHOS — Jared Wurst had a pair of TD runs and had scoring passes to Chris Schwinnen and Brady Grothaus, who also had a TD run and Jordan Brown and Chase Martin each had a rushing touchdown for DSJ.

Leipsic 52, North Baltimore 7

NORTH BALTIMORE — Jaun Pena had six carries for 86 yards and two touchdowns, teammate Gavin Lomeli had 134 yards and a TD on 10 attempts and Dylan Schroeder completed seven of eight pass attempts for 140 yards and had TD throws to Cole Rieman, Cole Williamson and Tyler Hiegel. Kaiden Rader and Anthony Roman also had TD runs for the Vikings.

Coldwater 52, Kenton 27

KENTON — Jake Hemmelgarn completed 21 of 27 pass attempts for 247 and Ben Wenning and Cole Frilling each had two TD catches for the Cavaliers. Mitch Neikamp had two scoring runs and Wenning had one. Blake Dippold connected on a 32-yard field goal and all seven of his extra-point attempts.

For Kenton, Jason Sharp completed 11 of 24 pass attempts for 235 yards, Jayden Cornell had six receptions for 103 yards and three TDs, Landon Rush had two catches for 110 yards and a TD and Jaron Sharp rushed 17 times for 120 yards.

New Bremen 27, Benjamin Logan 12

BELLEFONTAINE — Nolan Bornhorst had two TD runs and touchdown pass to Bryce Blickle, who had four catches for 83 yards. Teammate Zach Bertke’s lone run went for a 44-yard touchdown.

Minster 34, Fort Loramie 14

FORT LORAMIE — Minster’s Alex Schmitmeyer had 20 carries for 107 yards rushing and two touchdowns and Jocob Neimeyer completed nine of 12 pass attempts for 183 yards and had TD throws to Cody Frericks, Trent Roetgerman and August Boehnlein.

St. Henry 22, Covington 0

COVINGTON — Zach Knapke scored on a TD run, Jay Knapke caught a TD pass from Sam Lefeld and Ethan Thieman connected on a pair of field goals.

Ridgemont 27, Ridgedale 24

MT. VICTORY — LJ Jackson had 11 carries for 209 yards and three touchdowns and Tyrese Patterson had a TD reception for Ridgemont.

Hardin Northern 35, Aracadia 14

ARCADIA — Owen Wetherall rushed 19 times for 173 and four touchdowns and teammate Cody Wilmuth had a TD run.

Crestview 59, Parkway 35

CONVOY — Drew Kline threw a pair of touchdown passes to Wade Sheets, who finished with five receptions for 126 yards, and rushed 15 times for 171 yards and scored a TD, Derick Dealey and Brody Brecht each had two TD runs and Caylib Pruett and Kaden Short each had a scoring run for Crestview.

Preston Stober had two TD passes, Eli Rich had a touchdown throw and run, Nick Hawk had a TD run and reception and Corey Walls and Gavin Stober each had a touchdown catch for Parkway.

Marion Local 42, Woodlan 0

WOODLAN, Ind. — Nate Bruns had a TD run and throw to Kyle Francis, Nolan Habodasz had two TD runs and Brandon Fleck and Dylan Heitkamp had one each.

Fort Recovery 23, Lehman Catholic 6

SIDNEY — Jacob Acheson had a touchdown run, Clay Schmitz connected on TD passes to Gavin Thobe and Clayton Pearson and Cobe Wendel made a 25-yard field goal for Fort Recovery.

Columbian 35, Elida 3

TIFFIN — Elida’s Noah Adcock made a 34-yard field goal.
