Girls golf preview: Meet LCC’s Mulcahys

As a team, senior Meghan Mulcahy and her sophomore sisters Mary Kelly and Erin along with senior Hannah Garver were part of Lima Central Catholic’s third-place Division II state girls golf team.

As a trio, the Mulcahys are force on the links but each has her own identity.

The Lima News asked each to fill out a questionnaire to provide some insight into their personalities.

Who is your favorite PGA or LPGA Tour player?

Meghan: Jordan Spieth

Mary Kelly: Brooks Koepka (PGA Tour) and Brooke Henderson (LPGA)

Erin: Rory McIlroy

With which club do you feel the most confident?

Meghan: 56-degree wedge

Mary Kelly: 8 iron

Erin: 8 iron

If you could play a round with three people (not pro golfers), who would they be?

Meghan: Steph Curry, Adam Sandler, Justin Timberlake.

Mary Kelly: Steph Curry, James Corden, Khloe Kardashian

Erin: Justin Bieber, LeBron James, President Donald Trump

What part of your game do you have to work on the most?

Meghan: Short game.

Mary Kelly: Putting

Erin: Chipping and putting

What do you like to do that your sisters don’t enjoy?

Meghan: Watching movies.

Mary Kelly: I actually enjoy going to school.

Erin: Reading

What is your favorite app?

Meghan: Snapchat

Mary Kelly: Twitter

Erin: Instagram

What is your favorite golf course (other than Shawnee Country Club where their dad, Steve, is the head golf professional) and why?

Meghan: Hickory Sticks because that’s where I shot my lowest round this year (she shot a 5-over 77 in the Lima Junior Golf Association’s Lee Kinstle GM Open).

Mary Kelly: The Ohio State Gray Course is really nice. I am an Ohio State fan so it is cool golfing there, and it is where we play the state tournament so it gets me excited and ready to compete.

Erin: Colonial Golfers Club because it is always well kept, and I play my best golf there.

What is your favorite school subject?

Meghan: English.

Mary Kelly: History.

Erin: Math.

What is the best part of getting to play on a team with your sisters?

Meghan: They push me to do my best always.

Mary Kelly: We are very competitive so we are always pushing each other to get better.

Erin: We like to have fun and compete against each other.

When I am not on the golf course I like doing this the most.

Meghan: Dancing.

Mary Kelly: Playing basketball.

Erin: Playing basketball.
