Northwest Conference

Allen East

Division II

Coach: Mike Abbey

Returning letter winners: Kacey Meyer, sr.; Sydney Miller, sr.; Kayla LaRotonda, sr.

2017 NWC finish: Second in tournament. Meyer tied for second and LaRotonda tied now graduated teammate Haylee Mattevi for sixth in the individual scoring.

2017 postseason: Seventh at Division II Fox’s Den sectional.

Coach’s analysis: We have three solid seniors with experience. If we can get a decent fourth look out for these girls.

Bluffton

Division II

Coach: Nicholas Rackley (fourth season)

Returning letter winners: Alivia Koenig, sr.; Kennedy Coughlan, sr.; Mara Minning, sr.

Top prospects: Olivia Spallinger, soph.; Allison Burghaze, soph.; Jordyn Garmatter, fr.; Melina Menza, fr.; Kailyn Goodman, soph.

2017 NWC finish: Won the tournament with Koenig earning medalist honors.

2017 postseason: Fifth at Division II Fox’s Den sectional (Alivia Koenig advanced to district with fourth best individual score of 81); Koenig shot 90 to finish in tie for 27th at Sycamore Springs district.

Coach’s analysis: This marks the fourth year for the girls program. With many returning players this year we hope to improve on the great record (16-6) we had last year and make a lasting impression on Division II girls golf. The ladies are fired up and focused to make a run to districts this year, and possibly farther. We are looking forward to see where this season will take us.

Columbus Grove

Division II

Delphos Jefferson

Division II

Coach: Ryan Strickler (second season)

2017 NWC finish: Fourth in conference tournament. McGue tied for second in indvidual scoring.

2017 postseason: Finished 10th at Division II Fox’s Den sectional.

Coach’s analysis: After starting our program last season, we are poised to build on what experience we gained in 2017. My two graduated seniors Sara Zalar and Samantha Kehres will be greatly missed, however, we will be led by McGue who will be slotted into our No. 1 spot. She had a nice sophomore season and was the runner-up at the NWC girls tournament. Behind her are five promising sophomores that will all compete and make us very competitive. Smith, Fitch, Mueller, Buzard and Carpenter give us depth and the more they play the better we will become. This is a tremendous group of ladies that are so much fun to be around and the more rounds we play, the better we will be.
