WINDSOR, Ont. — The Lima Locos fell further back in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Northern Division race with a 4-3 10-inning loss Friday night to first-place St. Clair.
The Locos (24-16) are 1 1/2 games back of the Giants (26-15) with two games remaining in the regular season.
Lima held a 3-2 advantage in the ninth only to see the Giants rally for the victory with the winning run being scored on an error.
Brad Croy (Bowling Green/Ottawa-Glandorf) had three hits, Daniel Seres (Kennesaw State) and Jess Davis (Alabama-Birmingham) each had two hits and an RBI, Tyler Simon (Kennesaw State) had two hits and Mark Castelblanco (Georgia Gwinnet) had a hit and an RBI for the Locos. Seres and teammate Cade Beloso (LSU) each doubled.
Lima starting pitcher Cole Baker (UNOH) allowed two earned runs, four hits and seven walks while striking out five in six innings. Reliever Jake Wojciechowski (Owens CC) allowed one earned run, a hit and three walks in 2 2/3 innings. Troy Cordrey (Alabama-Birmingham) got the loss, allowing a run, a hit and three walks in one inning.
Lima returns home for a 7:05 game tonight against Grand Lake at Simmons Field and close the regular season at 4:35 p.m. Sunday at Grand Lake. St. Clair has one game regular season game remaining Sunday at home against Saginaw.
