MUSKEGON — The Lima Locos scored twice in the eighth inning to rally and defeat the host Clippers 3-2 in a Wednesday night Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League game.
Lima (24-14) moved a half game ahead of St. Clair, a 4-3 loser to Irish Hills, in the Northern Division. The Locos travel to St. Clair for a two-game series that begins at 7:05 p.m. Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Locos fell behind 2-0 in the first inning and then split Muskegon’s lead in half with a run in the sixth.
Malik Spratling (Gulf Coast Community College) had two hits, including a double, and an RBI, Brad Croy (Bowling Green/Ottawa-Glandorf) had a hit and an RBI and Michael Diffley doubled for Lima.
Tyler Miller (Texas A&M Corpus Christi), who allowed two earned runs, one hit and six walks while striking out three in 7 2/3 innings, got the victory and Evan Baber (Chattahoochee Valley Community College), who allowed a hit and a walk while striking out two in 1 1/3 innings, earned the save.
