MUSKEGON — The Lima Locos were unable to recover after the host Clippers scored four times in the inning, resulting in a 12-6 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League defeat Tuesday night.
The Locos (23-14) move a half game behind St. Clair (24-14), a 13-2 winner against Irish Hills, in the Northern Division standings. Lima will play Thursday and Friday at St. Clair after taking on the Clippers again at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in Muskegon.
On Tuesday, after falling behind 10-1, the Locos scored twice in the sixth, once in the seventh and twice in the eighth.
Tyler Simon (Kennesaw State) had three hits, Michael Diffley (Arizona Christian) and Cade Beloso (LSU) each had a double and two RBI, Malik Spratling (Gulf Coast Community College) had a base hit and an RBI and Christian Waltman (Alabama-Birmingham) doubled for the Locos.
