Roundup: Lima Senior duo to compete at Midwest Meet of Champions

LIMA — Lima Senior’s Suerethia Henderson and Briana Wright have been selected to participate in the Midwest Meet of Champions, featuring track and field athletes from Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.

The meet will be held Saturday at Michigan State University.

Henderson will be part of the Ohio 400 and 800 relay teams and Wright will take part in the discus.

Henderson was named the Three Rivers Athletic Conference’s Female Track Athlete of the Year in 2017 and 2018 and finished third in the 100 and 200 meter dashes at the Division I state meet. Wright finished fifth at state in the discus.

LJGA rained out

LIMA — Tuesday’s Lima Junior Golf Association event at Tamarac Golf Course was halted by lightning. The event has been rescheduled for July 10 with tee times being posted July 9. game June 16

FOSTORIA — Preliminary rosters have been determinded for the 7 p.m. Saturday, June 16, all-star football game at Fostoria Municpal Stadium.

Listed area players include Bluffton’s Brice Rayle, Gavin Conrad and Kaleb Jefferson, Cory-Rawson’s Austin Price, Blaine Peterson and Zerich Magnall, Kenton’s Luke Baird, Trent Reichelderfer, Alex Stephens and Clint Kitchen, Upper Scioto Valley’s Kolten Keith and Hardin Northern’s Bryce Hipsher.
