Roundup: UNOH women in 13th at golf nationals

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — The University of Northwestern Ohio is 13th after Thursday’s third round of the NAIA Championship being held at the PGA National Championship Course .

Caitriona Griffin continues to lead the way for the Racers as she is tied for 13th overall with a three-round total of 232, including a 77 on Thursday. Devaki Anatha Ganesh, who is tied for 22nd overall at 235, carded UNOH’s top score in the third round with a 74.

PIQUA — Led by Tabatha Saam’s third-place effort in the shot, Van Wert leads the girls standings with 11 points, one better than Benjamin Logan, Milton-Union and Defiance.

Saam had a top distance of 37-04.25 in earning a spot at state with a top four finish. Elida’s Jessica Siefker also qualified for state with a fourth place in the high jump (5-01.).

In the boys competition, Thomas Schwieterman of Coldwater was fourth in the discus (157-00). Competiton is scheduled to resume Saturday.
