Roundup: Bluffton’s Schaadt strikes out 15 in softball win

LEIPSIC — Winning pitcher Libby Schaadt struck out 15 and allowed two hits, two walks and one earned run in seven innings as Bluffton defeated Leipsic 2-1 in softball Tuesday. She also homered and teammate Averey Rumer had a hit and RBI for the visiting Pirates. Bailee Sickmiller tripled for Leipsic.

Lima Senior 6, LCC 1

LIMA — Lima Senior outfielder Lexi Williams threw out a runner at the plate and had two hits, including a home run. Winning pitcher Riley Davenport allowed one run in six innings.

St. Marys 5, Ottawa-Glandorf 3

ST. MARYS — Kylie Lauth had a triple and two singles, Rylee Burd had two hits and Lexi Fowler had a double and an RBI for the host Roughriders. Sam Okuly and Katelyn Yoder each had a hit and an RBI for O-G.

Ada 17, Waynesfield-Goshen 5

WAYNESFIELD — Sydney Newland, Maddie Gossard and Raina England all homered for Ada. S Newland finished with three hits and four RBI, Gossard had two hits and four RBI and England had two hits and two RBI. Cyndey Roberts had two hits and four RBI and Aubrey Biederman had two hits for W-G.

Columbus Grove 10, Miller City 9

COLUMBUS GROVE — Angel Schneider had a double, a single and three RBI and Teyah Sautter had a single and a double for the host Bulldogs. Katalie Koenig had a home run, double, single and two RBI, Allison Ruhe had a double, two singles and three RBI, Abbey Schroeder had three hits and Molly Ellerbrock had a double and a single for Miller City.

Allen East 16, Botkins 3

HARROD — Olivia Lawrence and Alex Briley each tripled and doubled for Allen East (4-4).

Defiance 8, Shawnee 6

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Chloe Wohlgamuth hit and home run and doubled and Laken George had a double and a single for Shawnee.

Continental 12, Kalida 8

CONTINENTAL — Macy Collier had three hits, including a home run, Amber Logan had four hits, Kennedy Hiltner had two doubles, a single and three RBI, Jessica Stauffer had a single, double, triple and five RBI for Continental. Taylor Zeller had a triple, a double, three singles and three RBI, Vandemark had a double, two singles and two RBI, Smith had two hits and two RBI and Makenna Hoyt had a single and a triple for Kalida.

GLANDORF — The Titans scored three times in the bottom of the fifth to get the lead for good the Western Buckeye League encounter. Ethan White doubled and had an RBI and Chase Scrieber had a hit and an RBI for O-G (6-2, 1-1 WBL). Trey Fisher had two hits and an RBI and Braeden Dunlap and Wyatt Bailey each had two hits for St. Marys (0-7, 0-2 WBL).

FINDLAY — Winning pitcher Hunter Stephen had seven strikeouts in seven innings. Zach Ringwald had two hits and two RBI and Brady Nolen had two hits and an RBI also for the Bearcats (7-1).

Celina 4, Kenton 1

CELINA — Winning pitcher Reid Harter allowed three hits and no walks or earned runs while striking out five in seven innings.

Kalida 9, Arlington 2

KALIDA — Josh Recker had two hits and three RBI and Gabe Hovest and Kevin Hamburg each had two hits and an RBI for the host Wildcats.

Lincolnview 8, Fort Jennings 0

FORT JENNINGS — Chayten Overholt had three hits and an RBI for Lincolnview. Brandon Wehri had two hits for Fort Jennings.

MCCOMB — Drew Johnston and Chase Kuhlman each had two hits and Mark Kuhlman, Tyler Schroeder and Jacob Koenig each had two singles for Miller City.

DEFIANCE — Logan Maxwell had Shawnee’s lone hit against winning pitcher Logan Andonian, who threw six innings.

WAPAKONETA — Singles players Jeffrey Adkins and Curtis Hughes and the doubles team of Austin Hancock and Noah Kirby won for the Redskins. Kannen Wannemacher and the team of Zane Fast and Mike Hellman won for the Cougars.

Singles players Tyler Christoff, Sebastian Kunkleman and Dylan Buetner and the doubles teams of Jared Ramirez and Nathan Smith (E) and Jacob Ramirez and Riley Creps all won matches.

Shawnee 4, Defiance 1

Singles players Michael Rutter, Isaac Hanover and Jackson Schaaf and the doubles team of Tate Stewart and Alex Rudzinski won matches for Shawnee.

Perry quad meet

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Arcadia won the boys title with 81 points followed by Perry (70), Fort Jennings (53) and Vanlue (19). D’yonte Parker won the 110 and 300 hurdles, Nate Gipson won the high jump and 800 and Logan Hauenstein won the pole vault for Perry. Adam Noriega won the 100 and Alex Wieging won the 400 for Fort Jennings.

Arcadia won the girls title with 85 points followed by Vanlue (70), Fort Jennings (49) and Perry (19). Lexi Hoersten won the 100 hurdles and Madison Neidert won the 800 for Fort Jennings.
