new head coach
LIMA — After five seasons as the assistant, Jennifer Dervarics is taking over the helm for the 2018 season as University of Northwestern Ohio head coach following the departure of Stuart Gore.
“We feel strongly that Jen Dervarics has the knowledge and experience to keep the women’s soccer program here at UNOH going in the same direction it has for the previous five years,” Athletic Director Chris Adams said in a news release. “She has been an integral part of the programs’ outstanding success from the onset. Jen’s attention to detail and organizational skills along with her being a good ‘fit’ for the university is what propelled us to hire her to replace the outgoing Stuart Gore. We are proud of the product that Stuart Gore and Jen Dervarics have put on the field for the past five years.”
Dervarics is a graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. While there Dervarics was a four-year starter and member of the winningest class in Bucknell women’s soccer history, as well as the Patriot League Player of the Year in 2007 and 2008. She is also third in the record books at BU for goals, assists, and points.
UNOH was the 2016 NAIA national champion. Last season the Racers reached semifinals in their fourth consecutive trip to the NAIA Championships.
