Baseball

Kalida 13, Delphos Jefferson 7

Kalida’s Josh Klausing picked up the win after going two and two-thirds innings in which he fanned seven and walked two while giving up six hits and five runs. In relief Owen Recker pitched two and one-third innings while fanning eight and giving up one hit and two runs. Offensively, Trevor Lambert went 2 for 3 with two doubles and two runs. Tyler Klausing was 1 for 2 with three runs scored and Josh Recker drove in two. For Delphos, Darius Shurelds was 2 for 3 with three runs and a double. Darnell Simpson hit a home run.

Ft. Jennings 3, Elida 1

Ft. Jennings’ Aaron Kloeppel went the distance to pick up the win. In seven innings of work, Kloeppel struck out four walked one and gave up four hits. Offensively Kyle Norbeck went 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and Derek Luersman was 1 for 3 with one RBI. For Elida, Luke Berger was 1 for 2 with a double and one run scored and TJ Whipple was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Drew Biglow went 2 for 3.

Paulding 10, Shawnee 7

PAULDING — Paulding’s Carson Shull picked up the win and Cole Heller had a double and two singles. Jaret Miller had two singles. Evan Edwards had a triple. For Shawnee, Jake Hutchins had two singles and Garrett Shaw had three singles. Kale Eeling had a double, Jared Thomas and a single and A.J. Brown had two singles and Justin Behnke had two singles.

Wayne Trace 4, Continental 2

HAVILAND — Wayne Trace pitcher Korbin Slade picked up the win after firing five innings and giving up one hit, two runs while striking out four and walking three. Braden Zuber pitched the final two frames to pickup the save. Zuber struck out three and gave up one hit. Wayne Trace had hits from Haydn Gillett and Drew Forrer. For Continental, Brady Dockery and Chris Potts each had singles.

Ada 6, Hardin Northern 2

DOLA — Ada’s Landon Blankenship had two hits and one RBI and Austin Amburgey recorded two hits. Bulldog pitcher Phillip Coulson picked up the win and struck out 10.

Boys Tennis

Ottawa-Glandorf 5, Lima Senior 0

LIMA — Ottawa-Glandorf got singles wins from Colin Hempfling, Isaac Compton and Corey Diemer and doubles wins from the pair of Collin Crumrine and Blake Reinstedler and the No. 2 team of Dylan Bockrath and Zach Ricker.

Bluffton 3, Bath 2

BLUFFTON — Bluffton got singles wins from Justin Haggard and Christian Groman and a doubles win from the duo of Grant Klingler and Edon Nygaard. Bath got a singles win from Gabe Niebel and a doubles win from Andrew Cook and Noele Kindig

Elida 3, Lima Central Catholic 2

Elida got singles wins from Tyler Christoff and the doubles team of Jared Ramirez and Nathan Smith and Riley Creps and Jacob Ramirez each picked up win. Scoring wins for LCC were Ben Brinkman and Mark Janowski.

Softball

Allen East 12, Lima Senior 0

LIMA — Allen East’s Chloe Lawerence pitched a no hitter she also had 9 strikeouts. Lakin Bashman had a grand slam a double and single and she also had 5 RBI. Riley Newland had a triple and double with 4 RBI. Allen East head coach Paul Patton collected his 100th career win.

Bluffton 1, McComb 0

MCCOMB — Bluffton’s Libby Schaadt pitched a complete game shutout. The Pirate pitcher gave up four hits and walked three while striking out 11 strike outs. Katie Prater went 1 for 2 with one RBI and that was a sacrifice fly in the seventh to secure the win. Teammate Kayla White was 1 for 3 with two stolen bases and Averey Rumor was 1 for 3 with one run. For McComb Shaye Hemminger went 2 for 3 with two stolen bases.

Crestview 7, Elida 5

Crestview’s Hannah Binnion had two hits and one RBI and Ashley Call had two hits and one RBI. Knights’ pitcher Victoria Lichtensteiger picked up the win on the mound. She struck out five and walked three. For Elida Kori Baker had a home run and two RBI and Addie Miller had a double. Erika Suever and Abby Smith both had two hits.

Parkway 4, St. Marys 4

ST. MARYS — S. Marys’ Drew Jacobs and Ty Howell each had two hits and Carter Ballweg drove in two runs. Parkway’s Clayton Agler went the distance for the win. He gave up nine hits and four runs while striking out 10 and walking three.

Shawnee 20, Paulding 8

PAULDING — Shawnee’s Olivia Musser picked up the win after going six innings while giving up 14 hits and eight runs. She walked four and had three strikeouts. Offensively, Laken George had a single and triple) and MollyBollinger had three singles. Chloe Wohlgamuth had a double, home run and a single, single) and Morgan Golden had three doubles. Raegan Wheeler had a home run and two singles). For Paulding Jalynn Parrett, Megan Tope and Audrey Manz had two singles and Haylee Dominque had three singles.

College

Softball

Cosart scores first win

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University softball team split it Ohio Athletic Conference opener against Marietta College on the BW Softball Field at the Roehm Athletic Complex.

Marietta (9-9, 1-1 OAC) won the first game by a final score of 3-2. BW (6-6, 1-1 OAC) won the nightcap by a final score of 1-0.

The Yellow Jackets offense was led by senior pitcher Sam Mott (Frewsburg, N.Y./Central) and junior All-OAC shortstop Erica English (North Olmsted) as the duo each went 2-for-3 with a double. Five other BW hitters had a base knock. The Yellow Jackets got a run batted-in (RBI) each from junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC right fielder Alexis Boledovic (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) and sophomore center fielder Macy Leach (Westerville/Central)

In the circle, Mott took the loss as she allowed three runs on four hits with a career-high 11 strikeouts.

In game two, BW got the games lone run in the bottom of the second and recorded just three hits. The Pioneers were held scoreless on five hits.

The Yellow Jackets got a base hit from English, sophomore second baseman Alex Kozich (Avon) and freshman right fielder Hailey Owens (Lakewood). Owens had a RBI and stolen base.

In the circle, freshman lefty Abby Cosart (Lima/Bath) won her first OAC game as she picked up her first career shutout. Cosart allowed no runs on five hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
