Roundup: Four score in double digits in Perry boys hoops victory

PERRY TOWNSHIP — The host Commodores outscored Miller City 24-12 as part of their 49-34 boys high school basketball victory Tuesday night.

Logan Dray (14), Jamal Whiteside (12), Louis Hoersten (11) and Chazz Jackson (11) each scored in double digits for Perry (12-7). Noah Otto had 12 points and Luke Lammers scored 10 for Miller City (12-8).

LCC 43, Chaminade-Julienne 37

DAYTON — Lima Central Catholic (6-13) outscored the Eagles 23-19 in the second half. Matthew Cecala had 1o points, Biggz Johnson scored nine and Mark Janowski contributed eight points for the Thunderbirds.

Elida 53, Bellefontaine 48

BELLEFONTAINE — Daniel Unruh had 14 points and Donte Johnson scored 13 for the visiting Bulldogs (16-3).

Girls basketball

Hardin Northern 39, Calvary Christian 38

DOLA — Calvary Christian (15-7) turned the ball over after Quinn Stewart-Evans connected on a pair of free threw with 1.6 seconds for Hardin Northern (3-19)

Maddie Grappy had 19 points, Stewart-Evans scored eight and Kaylynn Cook contributed five rebounds for Hardin Northern, which had 24 turnovers to Calvary’s 29.

Continental 40, Ayersville 23

CONTINENTAL — Logan had 17 points, Armey scored nine and Hoeffel contributed eight points for the host Pirates (4-17).

New Bremen 47, Botkins 32

BOTKINS — Kelly Naylor had 15 points and Macy Puthoff scored 10 for the visiting Cardinals (16-5). Paige Lane had 15 points for Botkins (13-9).

Coldwater 62, Elida 40

ELIDA — Grace Bruns: (14), Liv Harlamert (13), Kourtney Diller (12) and Lauren Gilliland (12) each scored in double digits for the Cavaliers (17-7). Shyah Wheeler had 19 points, Amiah Jones scored nine and Cienna Kuhn contributed eight points for Elida (6-15).

Shawnee 53, USV 37

MCGUFFEY — Shawnee (10-10) outscored Upper Scioto Valley 20-4 in the third quarter after trailing 19-17 at halftime. Alissa Stahler had 14 points and SaMya Wright scored 13 for Shawnee. Kaycee Carroll had 25 points for USV (5-17).

Ridgemont 63, Fairlawn 47

MOUNT VICTORY — Priscilla Howland (19), Shaylee McGrath (13) and Meadow Cromer (10) each scored in double digits for Ridgemont (13-8).

Defiance 51, Paulding 38

DEFIANCE — Briana Townley had 17 points and Sadie Estle scored eight for the visiting Panthers (6-15).

Stefanek to play

for Manchester

CONVOY — Crestview’s Charles Stefanek has signed a letter of intent to play for the Manchester University beginning in the fall.

He plans to study biology/chemistry on a track to pursue the field of dentistry. Stefanek was a letter winner his junior and senior years and earned first-team Northwest Conference and honorable mention all-district honors as a senior.

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Perry’s Logan Dray will signing at 3:30 p.m. Thursday to play for Lourdes University beginning next fall. The signing will be in the west wing gym community room.
