Roundup: Riverdale defeats Hardin Northern in boys hoops

DOLA — Riverdale’s 16-7 lead at the end of the first quarter grew to 34-18 by halftime on its way to an 83-33 victory against Hardin Northern in boys basketball Wednesday night.

Owen Wetherill had nine points and Nick Adams and Lance Good each scored six for Hardin Northern.

Friday’s Hardin Northern home JV and varsity games have been moved up in order not to conflict with the Cotton Bowl between USC and Ohio State. The JV game is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. followed by the varsity at approximately 6 p.m.

FREMONT — Friday’s Lima Senior freshman, JV and varsity games at Fremont Ross will have earlier start times.

The freshman game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., the JV game start time will be approximately 4:30 p.m and the varsity game should begin about 6 p.m.

ELIDA — The times for Friday’s Vicki Mauk Holiday Tournament consolation and championship games have changed.

The consolation game will start at 4 p.m. with the championship game scheduled for approximately 5:30 p.m.

The tourney begins Thursday with Lima Central Catholic playing Tinora at 6 p.m. and host Elida taking on Lima Senior at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Ovisco Tournament

CELINA — Coldwater defeated Marion Local 60-51 and St. Henry topped host Celina 51-34 to advance to tonight’s championship game.

Maura Hoying had 18 points, eight rebounds, seven steals and eight assists and Lauren Gilliland scored 10 and provided five rebounds for Coldwater. No Marion Local, St. Henry or Celina individual information was reported by deadline.

ADA — Wednesday’s junior varsity and varsity games between Maumee Valley Country Day and Ada have been moved to Feb. 5.

LIMA — Due to a heating unit malfunction in Racer Gymnasium, the game between UNOH and Cincinnati Christian at 7 p.m. Saturday has been moved to Croy Gymnasium/Houdeshell Court on the campus of the University of Findlay.
