Roundup: Delphos Jefferson hits 24 free throws in girls basketball win

SHERWOOD — Delphos Jefferson connected on 24 of 32 free throws attempts in its 75-57 girls high school basketball victory Tuesday night against Fairview.

Alli McClurg had 18 points and Devyn Carder and Sarah Miller each scored 15 for Jefferson.

Fort Jennings 36, LCC 27

FORT JENNINGS — The host Musketeers outscored Lima Central Catholic 16-8 in the third quarter after owning a 14-13 halftime advantage.

Makenna Ricker had 11 points for Fort Jennings.

Antwerp 37, Paulding 33

PAULDING — Sydney McCullough had nine points and Cassidy Posey scored eight for the host Panthers.

Cory-Rawson 53, Ada 45

ADA — Zoe Chisholm had 22 points and five steals and Samantha Roth scored 13 for Cory-Rawson. Sarah Curth had eight points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots also for C-R (1-2). Raina England (16), Maddie Gossard (11) and Rilan Conley (10) each scored in double digits for the Bulldogs.

Coldwater 61, Van Wert 52

COLDWATER — Lauren Gilliland led the host the Cavaliers (1-0) with 20 points and 19 rebounds. Teammate Kourtney Diller contributed 15 points and seven rebounds.

Riverdale 53, Hardin Northern 27

MT. BLANCHARD — Franki Bejarano had 11 points and Quinn Stewart-Evans had 10 rebounds for Hardin Northern (0-2).

CONVOY — The Ada and Crestview junior varsity game starting at 6 p.m. Jan. 18 will be two quarters followed by the varsity contest after a 15-minute between games break.

Saturday’s Troy Christian at New Bremen junior varsity game will start at 4 p.m. with the varsity contest to follow at approximately 5:30 p.m. The Cory-Rawson at Ottoville JV game the same day has been moved up to 6 p.m. followed by the varsity contest at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Bluffton’s Rowe

BLUFFTON — Bluffton’s Kaycee Rowe, an Allen East graduate, has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference player of the week after leading the Beavers to a pair of non-conference wins.

Rowe averaged 23 points and nine rebounds as the Beavers defeated Heidelberg 79-57 and Kalamazoo 86-70. The senior hit 20-of-32 from the field for 62.5 percent with 5-of-6 shooting at the stripe. Rowe finished the week with seven assists, six steals and two blocks.
