First Ohio high school football computer ratings of 2017 released


Crestview, Leipsic and Marion Local are atop each’s respective region in the first OHSAA Football Computer Ratings of the year which were revealed Tuesday.

In Division VI, Region 28, Crestview (4-0) is in first place followed by Delphos St. John’s (3-1) and Minster (3-1). Upper Scioto Valley (2-2) is in eighth place and New Bremen (2-2) is in a tie for ninth.

The top eight schools from each region in the final report Oct. 29 will qualify for the playoffs.

Also in D-VI, in Region 26, Leipsic (4-0) is in first with Pandora-Gilboa (4-0) in third. The Blanchard Valley Conference foes play at 7 p.m. Friday in Leipsic.

In Division VI, Region 24, Marion Local (4-0) is followed by fellow Midwest Athletic Conference member St. Henry (4-0). Lima Central Catholic (3-1) is in fifth place with the MAC’ members Fort Recovery (2-2) and Coldwater (2-2) in 11th and 12th positions respectively.

Western Buckeye League members Elida (4-0) and St. Marys (3-1) are in fourth place in each’s respective region. Elida is in Division III, Region 12 and St. Marys is in Division IV, Region 14 as is sixth place Van Wert (3-1).

In D-VI, Region 22, Ada (3-1) is fifth and in D-II, Region 8, Lima Senior (2-2) is 12th.
