Roundup: Spencerville moves to 7-0 in NWC boys golf

DELPHOS — Spencerville improved to 7-0 in the Northwest Conference by shooting the low score in a boys golf league match Wednesday at Delphos Country Club

Ethan Harmon and Gavin Harmon each shot 39 and Drake Mertz (42) and Alex Gallman (43) also contributed to the winning score of 163 followed by Bluffton (177), Delphos Jefferson (191) and Columbus Grove (200).

Bluffton’s Aaron Belcher also shot a 39 to share medalist honors with the Harmons. Logan Gallmeier led Jefferson with a 42 and Grove’s Jacob Oglesbee also shot a 42.

Tri Match

OTTAWA — Medalist Luke Lammers (37), Boyd Vance (43), Steven Stechschulte (48) and Reid Carr (59) all contributed to Miller City’s winning team score of 187 at Pike Run followed by Leipsic (228) and Fort Jennings (253).

Mason Tadena led Leipsic with a 43. Logan Schimmoeller shot a 60 to lead Fort Jennings.

HARROD — Medalist Brady Hipsher (39), Dylan Thompson (45), Tyler Gratz (53) and Kaden Parker (54) combined for USV’s winning score at Colonial Hills. Jaden Maxwell led W-G with a 47.

Tri Match

VAN WERT — Medalist Ellen Naumann (39), Allyson Hemmelgarn (42), Karlee Staugler (42) and Elizabeth Rockwell (51) combined for St. Henry winning team score of 174 at Hickory Sticks. Wapakoneta finished at 204. Lincolnview did not have enough players for a team score.

Lincolnview’s Shiann Kraft shot a 46, and Ali Wayman and Taylor West each shot 48 for Wapak.

Singles players Makayla Schroeder and Madison Schroeder and the doubles teams of Ellie Schroer and Madison Snider and Casey Minnig and Alyssa Good won for Wapak. Singles player Erin Hotmire won for Bluffton.

O-G winner

Ottawa-Glandorf’s Emma Schmiedibusch won her singles match 6-4, 6-4 Tuesday night against Lima Central Catholic. The wrong match winner appeared in Wednesday’s edition of The Lima News.

P-G won 25-6, 25-19, 25-6. Kirsten Brough had three aces, Addilyn Diller had 29 assists, Paige Fenstermaker had five blocks and 19 kills and Madison Hovest had 10 digs for Pandora-Gilboa.

HARROD — The hosts won 28-26, 25-16, 25-18. Abby Kennedy had nine kills and Summer McCloskey had 26 assists for Allen East (3-0).
