ADA — Ohio Northern dropped a 35-14 football encounter Saturday to Heidelberg.
Brennon Norris ran for a touchdown and had a TD throw to Hunter Kesler for ONU (1-2).
Adrian 23, Bluffton 15
ADRIAN, Mich. — Bluffton’s Xavier Reyero completed 21 of 35 pass attempts for 211 yards with TD throws to Ethan Beringer and CJ Thompson.
The Beavers fell to 1-2 on the season.
Volleyball
ONU goes 1-1
ADA — No. 23 Ohio Northern split a doubleheader with Albion (Michigan) and No. 5 Calvin (Michigan) on the second and final day of the 44th Annual ONU Invitational on Saturday. Both matches went the full five sets. The Polar Bears defeated the Britons 25-19, 23-25, 25-27, 25-17, 16-14 Saturday morning and fell to Calvin in a tightly contested 25-20, 21-25, 18-25, 25-23, 16-18 match in the afternoon.
Against Albion, Erin Wagner had 21 kills and four blocks, Ava Ehlinger had 17 kills and 17 digs, Lauren James had 15 kills and six blocks, Rachel Jennings had a team-best 40 digs and five aces and Grace Conrad and Caroline Hensley led ONU in assists with 31 and 27, respectively.
Against Calvin, James and Ehlinger led ONU in kills with 15 and 14, respectively. James added four blocks. Jennings finished with 26 digs and four aces, Conrad had 29 assists and nine digs and Hensley added 21 assists, six aces and six digs.
UNOH 3, Michigan-Dearborn 1
LIMA, — UNOH volleyball responded to their five-set loss to Concordia Friday night with a four-set win over UM-Dearborn less than 21 hours later.
Taylor Reust paced the Racers with 10 kills, four solo blocks and four block assists. Logan Thomas had nine kills.
Savanna Reed picked up 29 assists and 12 digs. Aubree Ricketts earned her second straight 20-plus dig day and fourth of the season, leading all players with 23.
Bluffton 3, Olivet 2
The Beavers won 27-25, 26-24, 22-25, 19-25, 15-13.
Chloei Barnett had 15 kills, Jenna Woods had 13 kills, Kasey Sager had 11 kills, Kelly Armentrout had 11 kills, Mallory Fluharty had 48 assists and nine digs, Abby Lawhorn had 18 digs and Bekah Pack had block assists for Bluffton.
Geneva 3, Bluffton 0
The Beavers fell 25-12, 25-16, 25-11.
Kelly Armentrout had five kills, Mallory Fluharty had 16 assists and Emma Organ had five digs for Bluffton.
Men’s soccer
Bluffton 3, Muskingham 1
Leonardo Campos had two goals and Tarrel McRay had a single tally for the Beavers. Teammate Angel Velasco-Urbina had six saves.

Alyssa Kester had Bluffton’s goal on a Nina McGinn assist.

Heidelberg Invitational
Fostoria — Bluffton University picked up where it left off last week when the Beavers opened the Heidelberg Fall Invitational with a 330. It is the fifth-best 18-hole score in school history and it has the women fifth after day one.
Junior Kiley Cline felt good on her home course, the Fostoria Country Club, shooting a 78 on Saturday! She is tied for 12th at the midway point. Freshman Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) stepped up to the plate and carded an 81 for the Beavers. Allie Waggener made it three under 85 as she finished with an 83.
Sophomore Sara Kroeger rounded out the scoring four with an 88. Senior Shelby Stammen (Fort Recovery) chipped in with a 93, while freshmen Gabby Green and Alyssa Begoon went 94 and 96, respectively.
The Beavers will cap off their third straight weekend of golf Sunday when they play 18 more holes at Fostoria for day two of the invitational.
