College roundup: Ohio Northern duo earn Division III track and field All-America honors

ADA — Ohio Northern’s Keegan Digby and Jordan Dean earned NCAA Division III All-America honors in men’s outdoor track and field from the USTFCCCA for 2023.

Athletes of member institutions who finished in the top eight of their respective individual events and as part of a relay team at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend in Rochester, N.Y., took home honors.

Digby placed sixth in the shot put in Rochester with a distance of 16.71 meters to earn his third career All-American accolade.

Digby holds the school record in the indoor and outdoor shot put events with respective marks of 17.13 meters and 17.46 meters.

Dean earned his first career All-America honor with an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter dash in Rochester, posting a time of 48.03 seconds. He ran a time of 46.93 during preliminaries to qualify for the final.

ADA — Ohio Northern had 71 student-athletes named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in the 10 spring sports for 2023.

The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.50.

Women’s track and field/cross country: Rosie Schroeder, Hannah Friend, Ashley Hockstok, Waynesfield-Goshen grad Rylie Barrington, Anna Schatzle, Toria Ingalls, Olivia Ogg, Chloe Gibson, Lincolnview grad Sami Sellers, Jaclyn Boardman, Elida’s Cienna Kuhn, Izzy Burman, Allie Starner and Olesya Mertz.

Softball: Taylor Hilty, Bella Spano, Annika Murray and Callie Rosser.

Women’s lacrosse: Emmily Moses, Gabby Monastra, Amanda Wells, Grace Wilson, Elizabeth Graham, Keaghan Burden, Emily Miller, Meredith Miller and Taylor Hannam-Zatz.

Women’s golf: Grace Honigford, Jessica Tubbs, Olivia Galigher and Isabella Orofino.

Men’s tennis: Drew Swisher, Isaac Spar, Sam Sran, Peyton Specht and Tristan Munteanu.
