Roundup: Ottawa-Glandorf clinches WBL girls soccer crown

Ottawa-Glandorf clinched the Western Buckeye League championship with a 11-0 girls high school soccer victory Tuesday night against Defiance.

Makenna Siefker had four goals and an assist, Myka Aldrich had three goals, Bri Douglass had a goal and three assists, Clara Beach had a goal and two assists, Lily Haselman had two assists, Mackenzie Recker and Maya Heringhaus each had a tally and Karsyn Erford had an assist.

Shawnee 2, Kenton 1

Shawnee’s Tayma Jmiai and Kamryn Morris and Kenton’s Avery Smith each had a goal. Shawnee’s Kamryn Morris and Abi Tempe each contributed an assist and teammate Chloe Nance had five saves in goal.

Danica Ehlers and Anna Niese each had two goals, Ava Rosengarten had a goal an an assist, Hailey Warnimont and Danica Ehlers each had two assists and Taygen Rieman, Taylor Wilhelm and Reagan Schiffer each had a single tally.

Payton Kuhn had two goals, Hannah Jones had a goal and two assists, Olivia Wallace and Analei Jackson each had a goal and an assist, Paige Durham, Jalenna Howard and Jordan Gladen each had a goal and Ava Overholt and Zoe Foxvog each had an assist.

FINDLAY — Led by co-medalist Carson Harmon’s 74, Elida advanced with a fourth-place finish.

Brice Engle (94), Caleb Harmon (97) and Ben Moening (99) contributed to the Bulldogs’ 364 total.

Findlay (321), Ashland (339), Lexington (346) and Columbian (366) also advanced to the Oct. 12 district at Shawnee Country Club.

Wapak’s Zac Niekamp advanced individually in a scorecard playoff after posting an 86. Kale Sudhoff had Celina’s low round with a 93.

COLUMBUS — Marion Local remains atop Division VI, Region 24, with Allen East fourth and Parkway 15th.

The top 16 schools from each region in the final report Oct. 23 will qualify for the playoffs.

Columbus Grove is fourth in D-VI, Region 22.

In D-II, Region 8, Lima Senior is 15th. In D-III, Region12, Wapakoneta is fourth and Celina is 11th. In D-IV, Region 14, Van Wert is fourth and St. Marys is eighth.

In D-V, Region 18, Coldwater is third and Bluffton is 16th.

In D-VII, Region 26, Waynesfield Goshen (third), Pandora-Gilboa (eighth), Lima Central Catholic (ninth), Upper Scioto Valley (13th), Hardin Northern (15th) and Crestview (16th) are all among the top 16. In D-VII, Region 28, New Bremen is fourth, Minster is sixth and Fort Recovery is 12th.

The Vikings won 25-14, 25-14, 26-28, 25-11. Serenity Siefer set a Leipsic school record with 70 assists. Kasey Brough had 28 kills, Marisa Hermiller had 18 kills, Alaina Brown had 25 digs and Samantha Hazelton had 16 digs also for the Vikings.

The Roughriders won 25-22, 25-14, 25-10. Addisyn Freeman had five kills and three blocks for Elida.
