KALIDA — Kalida got goals from Meredith Bockrath, Audra Hovest and Kendal Bockrath. Hovest and Livia Recker each recorded assists. Kalida keeper Kassidy Hipsher made six saves and Ottoville goalie Madison Hoersten made seven.

Cory-Rawson 3, Delphos St. John’s 0

MT. CORY — Cory-Rawson’s Paige McVetta, Lanie Kempf and Paige Carpenter all scored goals. Brynn Reese had two assists and Paige McVetta had one. Cory-Rawson keeper Laurey Wittenmyer had three saves for the shutout. For Delphos St. John’s, goalie Evie Bonderwell made 16 saves.

Girls Tennis

Van Wert 4, Bluffton 1

VAN WERT — Van Wert got singles wins from Grace Lott, Mandy Burenga and Zoe Coleman and a doubles win from the team of Piper Pierce and Sophie Gearhart. Bluffton’s double team of Ashlyn Jennings and Livy Quillen scored a victory.

Lima Central Catholic 3, Findlay 2

Lima Central Catholic got singles wins from Libby Simmons, Claire Janowski and Alexa Heffner.

Girls Golf

ARLINGTON — Lima Central Catholic’s Bridget Mulcahy is heading back to the Division II state tournament after finishing fourth overall with a score of 83 and was second overall as an individual at the district tournament held at Sycamore Springs Monday. Ottoville’s Lexie Honigford and Miller City’s Chelsea Erford tied for 20th with scores of 92.

Van Buren won the district with a score of 362 followed by Colonel Crawford with a 388 and Hopewell-Loudon was third with a 390. Minster was the top area finisher with a ninth place showing. Katie Heitkamp led the Wildcats with an 87. Other team scores were Ashlyn Homan (106), Ashley Meyer (110), Lauren Heitkamp (110) and Star Weigandt (121).

Boys Soccer

Shawnee 7, Ottawa-Glandorf 0

Shawnee’s Luca Fusillo and Matteo Fusillo each scored twice and Austin Miller Collin Scheid and Sam Tenwalde all scored goals. Miller and Tenwalde each dished out two assists and Sheid and Matteo Fusillo also had assists.

St. Marys 2, Elida 1

St. Marys got goals from Quinn Holtzapple and Jack Hertenstein and assists from Bradey Triplett and Braden Keller. Rider keeper Caden Ballweg made three saves.

Bluffton 4, Lincolnview 1

BLUFFTON — Bluffton’s Justin Good scored twice and Jack Bruan and Luke Shepherd added goals. Good and Ben Hartzler had assists. Pirate keeper had two saves. Lancer Jackson Evans scored the lone goal for Lincolnview.

Football

COLUMBUS — Waynesfield-Goshen, despite winning in convincing fashion last week, dropped one spot to No. 8 in the Division VII Associated Press Ohio High School Football poll released Monday.

The Tigers (6-0) takes on Perry Friday.

In Division III, Wapakoneta (5-1) moved up one spot to No. 11.

Van Wert (5-1) holds onto the No. 6 spot in Division IV. Marion Local and Coldwater are NO. 1 in Division V and VI, respectively.

Volleyball

Allen East 3, Ridgemont 0

HARROD — Allen East won 25-10, 25-16 and 25-10. Allen East’s Hannah Willams had 26 assists and Soraya Jackson added nine kills. Kenzie Koontz had seven kills and Elle Richardson had seven kills and six aces.

Bluffton 3, Patrick Henry 0

BLUFFTON — Bluffton won 25-13, 25-1- and 25-14. Bluffton’s Ayla Grandey had 11 kills and two aces and Gracie Yarnell had six kill, 12 assists, three aces and five digs. Kendall Stackhouse had five kills and Olivia Hobensack had eight assists and Morgan Fruchey recorded 10 digs.

Parkway 3, St. Marys 0

ROCKFORD — Parkway won 25-16, 28-26 and 25-17. Rider Brynn Clark had nine kills, five blocks and six digs. Ashlie Nuss and Lily Rammel had nine digs and Rammel added 19 assists and two aces.

Continental 3, Antwerp 0

CONTINENTAL — Continental’s Delaney Bowers had 15 kills, 13 digs, a block and two aces and Teaghan McDougle had 29 assists and 10 digs. Lauren Williams had six kills, 21 digs and four aces and Rhaegan Marshall added 11 kills, two blocks and one ace. Olivia Logan had 12 digs, a kill and two aces.

COLLEGE

ONU players honored

ADA — Senior soccer player Josh Ellis (Whitehouse/Anthony Wayne) and sophomore volleyball player Erin Wagner (Massillon/Perry) have been selected as the Ohio Northern athletic department’s Polar Bear of the Month award winners for September.

Ellis, a goalkeeper, started all nine of the ONU men’s soccer team’s September games, recording 26 saves and four shutouts while contributing an assist offensively as the Polar Bears posted a 5-2-2 overall record.

He was named Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 19 after tallying a combined eight saves in shutout victories over Ohio Wesleyan and Hanover (Ind.).

Wagner, a right-side hitter, helped lead the ONU volleyball team to a 10-5 record in September while garnering MVP honors at the ONU Invitational and earning an OAC Offensive Player of the Week accolade on Sept. 19.

She tallied 184 kills, averaging 3.35 per set, and recorded 3.5 points per set during the month.
