Lima area sports calendar

Allen County: The Allen County Archers hold traditional 3-D shoots on the third Saturday of the month all year long weather permitting. They are open to all archery equipment. The Archers hold a “stump shoot” for traditional bows only the fourth Saturday of each month weather permitting. Go to or call Neal Wallace at 567-825-7109 for more information.


Bath Township: The Bath High School baseball program will be holding its annual alumni game at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Bath Varsity Baseball Diamond. Alumni interested in playing should contact Coach Joe Gomez at [email protected]



Lima: The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C St., have openings in leagues and doubles. Open doubles begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Corn hole leagues are forming. Lima: The Lima Family YMCA is offering a Lego League and Lego League Jr.

The Lego League is for ages 9-14. The program runs from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Registration is now open. and is $20 for members and $30 for non-members.

The Lego League Jr. is open for ages 6-9. The program runs for an hour, develops youth critical thinking and imagination and features real world challenges to be solved by the youth guided by adult coaches. The registration fee is $10 for members and $20 for non-members.

Lima: Pickleball is played at Bradfield Center from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. All skill levels are welcome.

Lima: The Lima YMCA holds open pickleball play from 10 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (appointment only). Lima: New members are being accepting for the Lima Family YMCA’s Barracudas team for those ages 4 to 18. The Y also has a USA Swim Team which gives participants additional opportunities to compete at other Ohio venues. For more information contact April Dorman at 419-223-6045, extension 218.


Lima: The Lima Sabres have various shooting events. Thursday Trap Practice for Adults/Juniors/Beginners is 4 p.m. weekly. Adult Trap Practice is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, weather permitting. All trap sessions are open to the public. For additional information, go to or visit on Facebook.


Delphos: St. John’s will celebrate 50 years of Blue Jays volleyball before the 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, home match against Kalida in the Robert A. Arnzen Gymnasium.

All former coaches, players and anyone associated with the volleyball program are invited to attend and be honored. Free admission for all DSJ volleyball alumni, who are invited to sign in at the alumni table upon arrival. Entrance is through the breezeway only and doors open at 9:30 a.m.
