HARROD — Allen East pitchers Kylie Wyss and Chloe Lawrence did not allow Delphos Jefferson to get a hit in a 9-4 softball victory Thursday. Wyss also had three hits and three RBI.

COLDWATER — Winning pitcher Malave Bettinger gave up one run in four innings of work. Teammate Brad Giere had a pair of RBI doubles.
HARROD — The Delphos Jefferson at Allen East game was suspended in the top of the first. The resumption date had been announced.

DOLA — Arlington won the boys and girls team titles. The Arlington girls finished with 92 points, followed by Vanlue (51), Hardin Northern (48) and Arcadia (36).
Kaylynn Cook (1,600), 3,200 relay team of Alanna Roth, Lacey Isenbarger, Cook and Kamryn Hopson, the 800 relay team of Hopson, Sara Morris, Catherine Mcmillion and Alanna Roth and the 1,600 relay team of Mcmillion, Cook, Roth and Hopson won for Hardin Northern
The Arlington boys had 83 points followed by Arcadia (80), Hardin Northern (43) and Vanlue (20).
Nicholas Bame (800) and the 1,600 relay team of Andrew Stump, Bradlee Watts, Gabe Sheldon and Bame finished first for Hardin Northern.
Wapakoneta’s Charlie Sutton has signed to swim for Ashland University beginning next. Sutton owns nine of the 11 school records in swimming and has been the Western Buckeye League champion in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyles, the 200 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay. This season, Sutton was the district champion in the 50 and 100 freestyles and finished fourth at state in both events. He was also part of the 200 freestyle relay that finished sixth and the 400 freestyle relay that finished eighth at state. The Lima Area Swim Coaches Association also named Sutton it boys swimmer of the year.
The Elida Athletic Department has scheduled free sport physicals at the Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays, May 2, and May 9. Elida athletes, school teams only, entering grades 7–12 in the 2016-2017 school year, qualify.
