BATH TOWNSHIP — Rain stopped the sectional ACME tournament on Wednesday, but Bath and Van Wert are moving on.

Bath and Van Wert had each reached sectional championship games, and with two teams from each sectional advancing to the district, Bath and Van Wert were given the No. 1 seeds and automatically placed in the district.

So neither will be playing the winners of the sectional losers’ bracket games.

The loser bracket final between Shawnee and Wapakoneta is set for 6 p.m. today at Bath and Elida is scheduled to play host Crestview in Convoy at the same time.

The district tourney opens at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elida’s Ed Sandy Field.

WOAL Championships

The Western Ohio Aquatic League Championship Swim Meet will be held Friday and Saturday at Wapakoneta.

Events both days will begin by 9:15 a.m.

Ohio Amateur

ZANESVILLE — Not all players were able to get through the second round of the Ohio Amateur at the par 72 at Zanesville Country Club on Wednesday.

Of those who finished, Jonathan Feldkamp from Cincinnati leads at 4-under 140. Area players who have completed two rounds include Matthew Smith (153) of Waynesfield, Ben Hogenkamp (154) of Minster and Kaleb Kuhn (164) of Celina. James Riepenhoff of Lima was unable to complete his round after an opening round 80. Play will resume at 7:30 this morning. Once the second round is completed, a cut to the low 60 and ties will be made. The third round is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. today.
