Letter: Community supported donations to Kentucky

There are no words to express the way I feel about what happened last Sunday. I prayed and asked God to let me give back for my birthday next week and fill a bus to take items for those in need to Kentucky. I have so much to thank him for.

Sunday was beyond amazing. It was beyond my every expectation of what my goal was. We loaded more than 22,000 pounds to take to Kentucky. We had more than $1,600 in cash and gift cards that will help us with fuel, lodging and a donation to Owensboro Hospital, where it will be matched to help those in need.

There were so many people who stepped up at the end and worked effortlessly to fill the semi. I want to thank Westgate Entertainment Center for the bus and the space they provided. A huge thank you to Diane Patterson King, Isabella Brooke, Aliff Rogers, Denise Bowers, Jeff Duff, Aaron Hart, Sara Taviano, Jimmy Bates, Bruce, John Bilopanlovich and all the children and families who showed up to load.

May God bless you all in the upcoming year and always for your good deeds and dedication. Thank you to MTS Trucking for donating the semi and trailer and to our driver Sonia Renee’ Bishop for all her help. Thank you to WLIO and The Lima News for covering our event. Thanks to Limaland and the surrounding areas that donated. I would have never reached beyond my goal without all of you. God bless you all. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Happy New Year.
