I was having a great afternoon. It was sunny and there was a blue sky. My adult beverage was cold as I sat on the deck and watched the squirrels play.
Life was good.
Then I had to go mess everything up. Yep, you guessed it. I started to read the newspaper.
There it was in black and white: A New York Times/Siena College poll showed Joe Biden ahead of President Trump by 14 points. I don’t want to be mean-spirited. I’ve voted for both Democrats and Republicans during my 68 years. But all I could think of was that we are on the verge of electing a man who shows the early signs of dementia. That’s all this country needs.
So I turned the page of the newspaper and there was a story about President Trump. He was calling China names, telling people how great he was, and telling lies in every other sentence. That’s all we need, I thought. A junior high kid running the country for four more years.
I did the only thing I could think of. I sucked down my adult beverage, cracked open another one, and turned my attention to the comics page.
