My grandchildren participated in the scramble. They are the 4th generation of livestock exhibitors at the fair. They have been taught the responsibility of caring for animals. They would not deliberately try to hurt an animal.
I respect the opinions of the naysayers, I get where you’re coming from, but being a livestock farmer I think you’re going overboard. How about you spend some time with a livestock farmer and see what kind of work we do. I would like to see some statistics on farm kids to see if they end up being bullies or even end up in prison.
I believe the Auglaize County Fair does something similar. If this was such terrible thing then why was the place packed with spectators?
