My wife and I go to the Rally in the Square on Fridays. Each time this year the parking lot behind the stage is roped off so no one can park.
Wednesday we went to the Civic Center kickoff for the summer concert series. The parking spaces on the first block of South Main Street, including handicap parking, were blocked so no one could park. People had to park in the second block of South Main Street and walk two blocks to the Civic Center.
We keep hearing that we should support the arts and business, so why does the city make it so difficult to do so with limited parking? Some people have limited mobility and shouldn’t have to park two blocks away.
