Letter: America causes problems that the wall aims to solve

America’s immigration problems are less than Europe’s, but identical in cause: atrocious foreign policy. The West has stripped Asia, Africa and Central and South America of resources (and land) and left behind nothing but murderous power struggles, lawlessness and poverty. Third World populations are being driven north by fear of assassination, disease, enslavement and starvation.

An American border wall might stop the fearful but will be an easier solve than a Rubik’s Cube for the slime bags who profit big from the illegal drug trade that Americans helped build worldwide into the nightmare that it is.

But honest American businesses in poor countries help everybody: a few dollars buy food for poor tables and blankets for cold beds. Coupled with a sincere American effort to help curb illegal drugs, it would keep citizens safe at home.

But Trump’s “wall” fight is now victimizing Americans.

The Democrats should give it to him! At this point, his obstinacy is hardly charming, except to the terminally stupid.

Just know that it would be another windfall for the plutocrats who bought Trump the presidency, another fat contract like those in the Middle East that America’s supposedly rebuilding and democratizing. It might benefit us all to remember what “democracy” really means: Trump didn’t even win the election here.

Ike said, “Beware of the military/industrial complex.”

H.L. Mencken said, “…someday… the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

The chickens have come home to roost.
