The Lima News story on Christmas Eve about the live Nativity scene at St. John’s Catholic Church made for an execellent front page. To me it meant someone knew what Christmas is all about.
At age 84, I can remember when every year there was a live Nativity. It was important to go see it. Sometimes it was on Town Square, other times it was in front of the courthouse steps. Choirs and other groups sang “Noel” and other Christmas Carols. This was Christmas.
I wonder if young children know that Christmas is more than new toys and games and gifts to unwrap.
What does Christmas mean to you? I wonder what Jesus would say.
