Let’s leave aside our attachment to thoughts, feelings, words describing party affiliation aside, our bias, prejudice, fears, things we have been taught, and think only about solutions for the world and its citizens. If and when angry, these feelings come into one’s mind, remind yourself, “ I am looking for solutions for the greater good.”
What is your solution? How do I put it into action? How will it benefit the whole of society, benefit the world? Pick one: Poverty? Healthcare? Environment? Immigration? Jobs? Taxes? Patriotism vs Nationalism? Black Lives Matter? Domestic Violence? Sexual abuse / harassment? LGBTQ community?
This is not about religion, or any other organized group, it’s about us and finding solutions. Leave behind the attachments. I challenge you to try it for 10 minutes, 30 minutes. Is it difficult to let go? I find it to be a difficult exercise, but necessary.
