Letter: Hutchins story brings back fond memories

I read Coach Seggerson’s article about Aaron Hutchins a couple of days ago, and it brought back a memory.

The year of his accident, I was teaching a week-long class in Milwaukee, the home of Marquette. Everywhere I went, the topic of conversation by the locals was about the “Little General,” which was Aaron’s nickname there, apparently.

It was pretty obvious, these people adored him and were grief-stricken on his behalf. I had to enter some conversations to tell them I was from Lima, Aaron’s hometown.

I think Aaron would be a front runner, if he ever wanted to coach at Marquette.

What a great basketball player!
