Letter: Police officer not at fault

A young police officer was sentenced this month for not being able to judge the speed or clear distance for making a left turn in front of a motor cycle traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour.

Now, are we all going to be required to have the skills to judge the high speed of death-wish drivers? Are there going to be new classes so all drivers will have the skills needed to judge the clear distance of high speed oncoming vehicles?

Shame on the Allen County grand jury, Judge David Cheney and the prosecutor for not seeing that the young motorcycle driver did not care who he involved in his search for death.

Way to go Lima for the dismissing of a police officer’s lifetime of service.
