The Allen County Fair is just days away. It’s a summer event that people like me look forward too. For me, I make a beeline tom favorite french-fry trailer right off the bat. All other food falls in line.
All the activities are great but one isn’t right: the Allen County Fair Parade. This was always a traditional event on Saturday morning, leaving from where Lima Senior should still be. I was always an active with the parade, which is a staple to the fabric of the fair.
Unfortunately we have a tradition-killing fair manager who folded under city pressure like a bad card hand. He moved the parade from Saturday to Sunday — how lame!
Mr. Fricke, don’t start the fair on Friday night. Let the Saturday parade kick off the fair. Bring the tradition back!
