Letter: More creativity needed in dealing with plastic

People are going crazy over the use of plastic straws. It’s like mass hysteria.

Twice a week, I eat a frozen dinner, and the food is in a tray that can make a lot of straws. (No recycling in my area.)

Why not demand that our government demand that the Asian countries responsible for the majority of plastic trash have tariffs placed on them until everybody works together to clean the oceans up? Oh, tariffs can cause some hardships; we might not be able to buy that cheap stuff from China.

With all the tech we have now, let’s put it to work in finding a way to compost plastic.
