Letter: Allen tax levy priorities wrong

The Allen County Commissioners have their priorities wrong.

The infrastructure tax levy needs to be spent where it will do the most public good and where the majority of the people in Allen County will reap the benefits.

To get my vote, they need to commit $2 million per year to road and bridge repair or replacement and then the rest of the money can be spent on their pet projects. I’ve looked at the Juvenile Detention Center and there looks like there is room to merely expand that facility and remodeling would be cheaper than a whole new building. The County Engineers Office should rent some space from the practically abandoned old State Highway Garage on North West Street for salt storage and excess equipment storage.
