Letter: Basic economics should inform your next vote

Before I begin, let me ask this: Love Trump or hate him, and I get both, think back to the state of our economy before the Wuhan virus hit. This is directed more to younger voters, many of whom too often don’t get any or enough economics instruction anymore.

Inflation is, simply put, too much money chasing too few goods. So to ease inflation, you should increase the supply of goods available. There are several reasons why stupid Democratic policy makes this difficult. I won’t get into that now, maybe another time.

The other half of the equation is to take money out of the system. Biden and his thin majorities are doing exactly the opposite by pumping trillions more into the economy. And I posit that if given stronger majorities, they would be just getting warmed up.

What you currently have is a tug of war. The Federal Reserve is trying to restrict the money supply by raising interest rates, while the inept Democrats are going the opposite direction by voting in more and more spending. (Jimmy Carter anyone?)

Then there is Tim Ryan. Regardless of how many phony commercials he runs, it doesn’t erase the fact that as a congressman he has voted with Biden, Schumer and Pelosi 100 percent of the time for massive spending. Fact! As they say, it’s not rocket science folks. It’s basic economics that you may want to consider before voting.
