Letter: Victim of name-calling

Fifty some years ago, when I became serious about the dating game and began looking for a partner, I started by looking for a woman I could spend my life with. Since I had eliminated men from my search, I am now labeled by some as homophobic.

I wanted a pretty woman, so I am now labeled sexist.

I am white and wanted a white woman. Since I had not included Blacks, Orientals or Hispanics, my decision is now considered racist.

I wanted a Christian woman and thereby became anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, and a bunch of other names.

I wanted a woman of German heritage who could make wiener schnitzel and sauerkraut so, to some I am xenophobic.

I thought I was making decisions.
