Concerning the recent letters to the newspaper from Larry Donaldson and Terry Knebel. I may be older than Terry, but I think what Larry was referring to was that in the 1950’s, the government “borrowed” money from Social Security and was to pay it back. That has never happened. I remember my dad sitting at the kitchen table as we were eating saying, “They will never pay it back.” He was right.
Because this happened so long ago, no one younger than 70 would remember. How convenient.
