We appreciated and agreed with the May 17th Opinion article written by Ottawa-Glandorf Superintendent Don Horstman. His was a common sense approach to acknowledge the 2020 senior graduates.
Shortly after reading the article, we heard sirens and car horns coming down Route 66. Yes, we in Putnam County have parades on special occasions. There were fire trucks with flashing lights and sirens blasting, followed by many cars (six feet apart), and a state highway patrol car keeping everyone safe. A church service came first, a stop at school, and then a parade honoring the Ottoville High graduating seniors.
It made us proud of our young people who were safe, happy and free to enjoy the “fruits of their labor.” God bless them and all who supported and influenced them through the years.
