A work in progress

Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder doesn’t seem pleased with aspects of the Senate’s proposed budget changes, cleveland.com’s Andrew Tobias reported.

Of the Senate’s decision to cut $125 million in wellness funding for rural students, and send $38 million in new funding for fast-growing schools, Householder quipped: “Sort of a rob from the poor, give to the rich type of thing.” He also questioned the Senate’s decision to restore a business-income tax deduction the House had reduced. “We’ll see how the bill ends up. They’re not finished with it in the Senate, and we’ll deal with it when we get to conference committee,” Householder said.
