Letter: Jogger lucky she wasn’t splattered

In response to The Lima News article, “Lima unsafe for pedestrians and cyclists,” the motorist seems to be taking all the heat when, in fact, it is the pedestrians and cyclists that are more the problem.

They walk in the street and do not use cross walks. While the cyclist do not observe traffic laws, they run stop signs and traffic lights, cut in front of you to go to the other side of the street. On one occasion I was going north on Cole Street nearing Rice Avenue. I had a green light when a woman wearing headphones ran the light. She did not look either way or slow down. Had I not been paying attention, she would have been splattered on the front of my car.
