Letter: George Lopez a bad joke

There is certainly enough hate and animosity in this country right now. I don’t believe that the Lima Civic Center should be honoring a hateful respite like George Lopez by giving him an audience. This man has personally and unequivocally threatened the life of the President of the United States. And it is not the first time he has been vocal about his distaste for our president and his policy on protecting our borders from those that would do us harm. When the CIA took issue, he claimed that it was a joke. I do not think this is something that should be joked about

To allow this man to come to Lima to spew his hatred would be an insult. Not only to the citizens of our communities, but to the man we call our representative. Jim Jordan has been an advocate and supporter of President Trump during the very controversial proceedings going on in Congress and has recently been selected to the president’s defense team. Whether you like him or not for being a Republican, rest assured Jordan is one of the few in Congress who is standing up for the president and the rights of the citizens of this country to direct their own futures.

George Lopez does not deserve an audience anywhere in America. He certainly is not the first to parody the death of the president. And he most likely won’t be the last. But it would be in the best interests of the Civic Center to nullify that contract. Because, I for one, will not be there to listen to his hatred lies, and dark humor.
