LIMA — Area students are invited to enter an essay contest titled “Good Trouble/Necessary Trouble” and are asked to highlight the impact Congressman John Lewis had on the lives of the youth across America, regardless of their heritage.
The essay should discuss how the contributions made through the leadership of Congressman Lewis, who came to be known as “The Conscience of Congress” has changed lives for all Americans, especially those of color.
Your entry must be in the form of an essay, but can be accompanied by poetry, visual art or another piece of expression.
Entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12.
The top three entries will receive cash or prize awards at the premiere event in honor of Congressman Lewis on Sat. Feb. 20 at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center in Lima.
